Our 2023 Annual Meeting featured a keynote address by Andrew Hadfield (Sussex); manuscript masterclasses by Ben Pope (Manchester), Anne Anderton (Rylands) and Zsofia Buda (Rylands); a roundtable on achieving impact in medieval and early modern studies featuring Clare Downham (Liverpool), Rosamond Oates (Manchester Met) and Katherine Wilson (Chester); book launches by Michael Davies and Andrew Duxfield (Liverpool), Ingrid Rembold (Manchester), Phil Roessner and Catherine Casson (Manchester), and Katherine Wilson (Chester); and PGT/PGR elevator pitches by Scott Backrath (Manchester), Will Curtis (Manchester), Camille Drouin (Manchester), Saleeha Iqbal (Manchester), Cameron Marnoch (Manchester), Hannah Poole (Manchester), Rebecca Smith (LJMU), and Ellen Werner (Manchester). The event also featured the awarding of the Manchester University Press Medieval Prize to Sarah Hinds (York) — congratulations, Sarah!

Our first ever Annual Meeting, which was co-hosted by the North West Early Modern Seminar, was held in Manchester at the John Rylands Library and Research Institute on Monday 13 June 2022. It featured a keynote address by Anthony Bale (Birkbeck); a manuscripts masterclass by Rebecca Dixon (Liverpool) and Anne Anderton (Rylands/Manchester); a session on the theory of remaking pedagogy by Stefan Hanß (Manchester), kindly delivered in his stead by Rachel Winchcombe (Manchester), who was also able to bring her expertise to bear in the question period; and a chance to explore the Designing Dante exhibition with an introduction by its curator, Guyda Armstrong (Manchester). The event also featured an array of book launches — Lisa Colton (Huddersfield), Stefan Hanß (Manchester), Alex Metcalfe (Lancaster), Jason Roche (Manchester Met), Andrew Sargeant (Keele), Siobhan Talbott (Keele), and Rachel Winchcombe (Manchester) — and postgraduate elevator pitches — Joe Burton (Manchester), William Curtis (Manchester), Holly Dempster-Edwards (Liverpool), Lucy Elliot (Manchester), Imani Khaled (Manchester), Eddie Meehan (Liverpool) Megan Lester Price (Keele), Niels Weijenberg (Manchester), and Xiying Wang (Manchester).
